ABOUT KIYOKO

Kiyoko Naish was born, studied and worked in Japan. Her degree was in English literature at Aoyama Gakuin University in Japan. Studying Evelyn Waugh has been occasionally useful when understanding a slice of British culture.

She spent 13 years working for US investment bank Goldman Sachs in Tokyo, New York, London and finally Hong Kong where she met her husband and quit the 24/7 global markets lifestyle. She decided to dedicate her experience to helping people overcome cultural barriers in business and in everyday life. She is now Director of Qi Concepts and focuses on helping Western companies to enter the Japanese market.

Her passion for cultural awareness and languages has led her to introduce an English teaching support programme for Japanese children, mothers and teachers in Japan. Here in the UK, she makes visits to school children to promote Japanese culture and language through ‘Japan21′ supported by the Japanese Embassy. She also runs the Anglo-Japanese society ‘Hitomi-kai’ in the East Midlands.
